Girl vs. Boy

Life without the internet

Posted by: orboy on: October 29, 2007

At home this weekend there was no internet. For some reason it seems that my provider is failing to provide. I called them up this morning and it appears they have no account information for my phone number. How convenient! I tried searching through email to find a copy of any bill they might have sent me but was not able to find one. Is it possible I haven’t actually been paying for internet all this time? Or was it a one shot deal for the whole year or something along those lines? I don’t know, but I hope I can resolve it soon (Update: I see that I am at least being charged every month). I feel very disconnected not having the internet at home. At least my job allows me (unrestricted) access to the wonderful world of the wide web.

On a side note, I find India-based tech support annoying.

Update 2: I have been through 5!! different departments each one… NO – 6 NOW F%#^$! CURSE THIS INTERNET

All customer service agents routed to India suck. The other day I told one to change my seat for an upcoming flight…she change it and another one after I told her not to….she had no idea what I was saying. I think she needs to go back to English school….

It’s funny because when I used to work in technical support (here, in the US) we had some people (here, in the US) who couldn’t speak the best english in the world and I just knew that people on the phone with them thought they were routed to some offshore outfit.

Why is that funny?
