So I hopped out to the local department store after work yesterday looking for a decent DVD/VHS player replacement. To my chagrin, there was no decent replacement available. Its seems most of the DVD/VHS combos are crap! But I couldn’t leave empty handed so I thought about taking it up a notch and getting a DVD/VHS combo with a DVD recorder.

So I’m sitting there and looking at the display models I finally decide the one I want (out of like 6). BAM! Give it to me! Oh, what’s this? None are left? Fahgettaboudit!

So then I jump over to the basic DVD-only players and look at those. After all, the current brick I have at home now still plays VHS tapes fine. All I really need is a DVD player. So I find a the DVD player I like and just like before! They’re out! Double-u, tee, eff! What gives? At this point I’m getting frustrated and just grab one and go. I don’t even remember what it is but it’s not what I want and I think it was even a little more than I should have paid for just a DVD player, but oh well.

Once I got home I threw it in the corner and forgot about it. I didn’t need to watch any DVDs so it wasn’t needed.

Tonight, though, I think I might be going out to look for another DVD/VHS combo. This time I’m going to a larger electronics store so I might have better luck.
