It’s Tuesday, so I headed outside (in the rain) to call my grandmother (as I do every Tuesday). I chose to go to the nearby mall-type thing instead of the nearby mall in order to do so… limiting my store options but maximizing her ability to hear me as many less people tend to hang there during the lunch hours… Not surprisingly, she wasn’t home. The Christmas holidays have meant that she frequently gets called into work when she wasn’t scheduled and so, she’s been missing our phone appointments – SO, now without someone to talk to, I have a decision. What to eat? Eh. I’m not hungry. But, there’s very little to do in this mall thing… except… The PlayStation store.
I go in, fully intending to simply find the PSP that’s playing the Beowulf game (as I saw the poster on the way in and decided it would be cool), but it seems that a bunch of children have decided that is what they wanted to do as well. I tried to play Hot Shots Tennis, but it was pretty lackluster for a tennis game (in my humble opinion) and so I moved on… Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves – it was fun, running around and such. So much fun, that I completely forgot about wanting to play Beowulf. Well, I had ten minutes left so I walk over to the PSPs. Dang!!!
I’d been there too long (well, over a half hour) and I’d been spotted by an employee. I was trying to avoid such a thing, but oh well. “What type of system do you have?” he asked (after welcoming me to the store I’d been in for the better part of my lunch hour). Thanks to Boy, I was able to say “PS3″ with some authority and then, of course, he wanted to know what games I had. I used the “we” pronoun for all these questions, as it is not my PS3 and I tend to hate it, so it’d be wrong to say “I” had such and such games, but “we” have a few and I listed them for him. He seemed happy, smiled, and told me to make sure I tried out NeoGeo or something like that. Um… no. He had wasted my Beowulf time!!! Punk!!! Now, I’ll have to go back on Thursday. I don’t want to be a PlayStation Store lurker or any other type of lurker. I just want to play Beowulf. And I don’t even like PlayStation (there are many reasons, which I won’t bore you with here).

That’s right! It’s good for something – justifying your lurking around in the PlayStation store!
