Today (Friday) is my last day at work before leaving for a 2-week trip to see family during the holidays.  It’s like a super Friday – one which is not merely followed by two days of freedom, but two weeks!

I guess I should watch my use of ‘freedom’ here, as visiting the family is far from free.  The freedom is more so from work than it is personal freedom.  I will certainly be trapped in family get-togethers and other mind-numbing experiences that I would otherwise be able to avoid.  Nevertheless, it is always good to see some old, familiar faces after having ignored them for so long.
