I used to take a lunch break every day – this is back when FriendOfGirl worked here, last July. Then, she left… Ever since, I’ve been systematically acquiring more and more work (on purpose – I don’t like being bored and I was, so that’s that). The problem is now that, most of the time, I have so much work that there is no time for lunch. Many days I look at the clock and realize it’s 2:00 and I forgot to eat lunch. I don’t really mind the not eating; it’s the not going outside that bothers me. Working in a cubicle is fine, in theory, but I don’t have a window and it makes me miss my old office, where the windows were expansive and I wasn’t boarded into a tiny square.
My last job was so boring that I developed an addiction to www.websudoku.com and www.biblegateway.com - both of which were great, but no way to spend an entire day. I used to challenge myself to reading/memorizing scripture in a foreign language (preferably one that I couldn’t speak). But, outside of that, I spent a solid eight hours a day doing nothing but the occasional phone-answering. The only good point was the office. My office was huge and my desk tried its best but could only fill up one quarter of the room. When I spun around in my chair, the window loomed massively and the little town I worked in spread out like a beautiful painting before me. And when I got bored of that painting, there was more good news – construction on the church across the way. It was fascinating (well, for me it was fascinating – it was only my boss and me in the office and we really didn’t have that much to say to each other, just knowing there were other people somewhere in the world was good enough for me).
My job now is much better – for one, I’m much busier. Two, Jason works here and he’s fabulous! Three, my boss is awesome. Four, I don’t have to drive my car to get to/from here. The list goes on and on, of course, but it doesn’t make me miss that window any less.
Yeah yeah yeah…it’s all my fault you don’t go to lunch any more…I’m sorry!!!
And yes, I thought your expiration date was last summer…which reminds me, didn’t I win a bet or something?

Dude! Not only is it unhealthy to skip lunch, but it’s unhealthy to consistently not see the light of day! (both mentally and physically) At least take a half hour walk outdoors every day, especially now that the weather is…wait, you’re in California. The weather is always nice.
Plus (b/c I didn’t get the chance to comment when I originally read the post), you and boy are weird. Aside from putting an expiration date on a relationship, how can you put an expiration date on a relationship when you’re living together!? Is that not incredibly awkward? This is awful. I weep for mankind.
