Commuting with Boy

Posted by: icagirl on: May 27, 2008

As I’ve had to work some early hours this past week, I’ve had the opportunity to commute with Boy.  Boy’s train is more than an hour earlier than mine, causing me to have to wake up super early.  That, I do not like.  However, I get to walk to the train with Boy and talk [...]

Don’t be good at your job

Posted by: orboy on: May 19, 2008

Ok, I’m kidding, but not really.  Know what I mean?
Be good at your job, but don’t do too good of a job… at your job.  In other words don’t do things poorly.  Do them well, but do not exceed your expectations – or at least those perceived by your manger/co-workers. Not always.  I understand there’s [...]

I miss my purse

Posted by: orboy on: May 16, 2008

So, this morning, I was able to successfully transfer the contents of my man-purse to my pockets and backpack.  And it was good.
The walk to work was a dream.  Still warm, though early in the morning,  and I didn’t have to worry about the inconvenience of carrying my jacket around with me.
I neglected one thing.  [...]

Car in the Shop

Posted by: icagirl on: May 16, 2008

Yesterday, I had the unfortunate task of dropping off Miss Kitty (my beautiful car) to a dealership, as she is a big ol’ mess right now – lots of little things wrong and in the last few days, one little thing started to become a big thing, so I had to bring her in to [...]

My Man-purse

Posted by: orboy on: May 16, 2008

My jacket is my man-purse. I keep all of my precious items in my purse including, but not limited to, money, my train pass, business cards (in a wonderful, engraved case), and my glasses, even though I never wear them.
Every year around this time I have to give up my man-purse. The reason? [...]

Surprise Panties

Posted by: orboy on: May 13, 2008

2, almost 3 times have there been “surprise panties” in my laundry.  Somehow, somewhere, someone’s panties snuck into my laundry between putting it into the washer and taking it out of the dryer of our building’s laundry room. And these aren’t Girls panties; they’re some stranger’s panties (but Girl’s panties should no more be in [...]

Lessons Learned from Boy

Lesson 1: How to Ruin Happiness
Don’t be fooled, ruining happiness is an art form and takes patience and a practiced hand.  Achieving routine happiness-ruining is a skill.  Although there are many subtle and overt ways to ruin someone else’s happiness, there is an easy way to start.  I promise, that this a very simple way [...]

Good-Bye Alex

Posted by: icagirl on: May 12, 2008

And, just as quickly (and quietly) as he entered into my life, he has left me… Alex (cute Russian) has quit his job.  He cannot be blamed for the tragedy that is the ridiculousness that was/is his former employer.  He was sweet, nice, and efficient – as we all know, we can’t have that.
Good-bye, dear [...]

City Living

Posted by: orboy on: May 10, 2008

I don’t live in the city.  I work there, but I don’t live there. I never have, and I don’t suspect I ever will.
The city scares me.  It’s not just the traffic and parking (though that’s part of it), it’s mostly the people. The people found around the streets in the city I bless with [...]

I helped the community!

Posted by: orboy on: May 9, 2008

Today I volunteered at the food bank. It’s not something I normally do – or have ever done – but I thought it might be fun, so I was all for it.
My job was to help package food.  See, food banks often get large quantities of food in gross from contributing corporations (as well as [...]
