So, our tiny little department let someone go this past Monday – meaning, I guess, that they got fired.  They were here one minute, and gone… well, not the very next minute, as they had to stay to fill out some paperwork.  It was odd, in that we didn’t expect it or have any idea that it was happening – now, her responsibilities have been split among the rest of us until we get a temp.  We’re all overworked to start with, so the stress level was just knocked up a few notches.   And today…  Well, it looks like Dan is going to quit – he’s been acting strange and has requested a meeting with the department head – not a good sign.  He’ll be leaving, it’s almost definite, but I’m seriously hoping he gives two weeks notice, as I don’t think we can (as a department) handle his work, too…  Work is crazy.

Update:  As it turns out, I was right – Dan quit this morning – but, thank goodness he gave a week’s notice – it’s something… and we need something.  Today for lunch, I just sat staring at my computer at how wrong all my work was, but it’s like I knew it was wrong but I couldn’t fix it.  I handed it in to MelBel and she gave one her patented eye rolls/shrug when I explained how wrong it was.  I’m better now, as I went for a walk and will soon drink my apple juice.
