It’s raining today. I love the rain. It always makes me think of that song “Blame it on the Rain” by Milli Vanilli. That, in turn, makes me feel old. How old do I have to be to remember the scandal that was Milli Vanilli? I even remember the Care-free gum commercial in which Milli Vanilli made fun of themselves by pretending to sing opera. I’m old.
Also, in thinking about Boy’s beard, the reason that it makes me so happy is that it makes him look older. Without it, he looks twelve and I look forty, and I hate that. I’m not robbing the cradle – well, not really, though he is three months younger than me. Eventually, he’ll get rid of the beard, even though I love it (I think it’s totally cute, but have been assured by my sister that it’s not) and I’ll go back to feeling really, really old.
Maybe if I spend all day singing Rihanna’s “Umbrella” song, I’ll feel better – it is the song that popped into my head as soon as I opened my happy little umbrella that shielded me from the stormy weather of the morning – but even that came out almost two years ago. My taste in music seems to have fallen into the category of irrelevant.

I remember all that Milli Vanilli stuff. I think you must be very young like me.
